MIGRATION PROMPTED BY HIGH COST

HOMEOWNER MOVING DUE TO COST

According to recent research by Freddie Mac [1], domestic migration among US homebuyers has slowed down by 18% in the past year, but more people are still moving from high-cost areas to more affordable ones. Florida and Texas are currently attracting the most homebuyers, while New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco are seeing a net migration loss. Redfin [2] reports that many people are moving from expensive cities to Sun Belt states like Florida, with the majority of those looking to relocate being from large cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., and Boston. Sacramento, Las Vegas, and Phoenix are also popular destinations [3].
